Discussing the “Jew-in-a-Box” Exhibit with Jake Tapper
In 2013, the Berlin Jewish Museum launched an exhibition entitled, “The Whole Truth: Everything You Always Wanted To Know About Jews,” one element of which featured a real live Jewish person sitting in a plexiglass box for two hours each day answering questions from inquiring Germans.
Living in Berlin at the time, I volunteered to be the so-called “Jew-in-a-box,” an experience I wrote about for Tablet and discussed with Jake Tapper on CNN.
